Early in Stephen's career he worked for a major software consultancy in the product development arena, understanding client needs and translating these needs into the design of global IT systems. These systems were international in scope and Stephen is very experienced in working and travelling globally and understanding a diverse set of requirements.

Stephen has worked in the investment banking industry IT for the last 15 years for banks including JPMorgan, HSBC and BNP Paribas, and has built up great technical and business knowledge of electronic trading systems during this time. His roles have always been business-facing, and he is very versatile in being able to work on technical IT development but at the same time, working directly with trading desk heads, traders and business users, and directly managing projects with them.

He always seeks primarily to understand the needs of the business users and then to deliver excellent software. However he takes a balanced approach, aiming to ensure that this is done within appropriate time and cost constraints as agreed with the business.
