Paul is the technical lead for ETLogic systems. He has worked in technology for nearly 20 years, starting at IBM, with the last 7 years in investment banking IT, including JPMorgan, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank and HSBC. Part of this work has been for a consultancy to the investment banking business and IT, so he is familiar with a diverse range of client technologies and business needs.

Although his technical know-how is excellent, Paul believes that good technology on its own is not enough, and it is essential to have the users' business needs at the forefront at all times and to find the best way to deliver those requirements.

Paul has applied this philosophy to front-office trading systems at the investment banks, where he has worked directly with traders to understand their problems and provide them with solutions. This has helped Paul understand the importance of making systems as simple as possible to understand, but where there is unavoidable complexity, to tackle it head-on.
